Ein V'brucker Schicksal - meines vielleicht ?
Woe to you! for you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.
48 So you are witnesses and consent to the deeds of your fathers; for they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, `I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,'
50 that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation,
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechari'ah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it shall be required of this generation.
52 Woe to you lawyers! for you have taken away the key of knowledge; you did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering."
53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard, and to provoke him to speak of many things,
54 lying in wait for him, to catch at something he might say.

A Cech Guinneypig
This year, 32 countries will compete in five main sports: downhill skiing, cross-country, biathlon, curling and sledge hockey. Sledge hockey players are seated in a small sledge on skate blades and shove themselves around the ice with a pair of short hockey sticks.
The Czechs are sending seven athletes to Nagano, four physically disabled male skiers and three blind or partly sighted female skiers.
Dostal uses a single ski and long crutch-like poles with short ski tips attached to the ends, called outriggers.
Dostal has found hope in the healing power of sport. But it has been a struggle.
In Communist Eastern Europe, handicapped children were often kept locked away in institutions and sent to schools for the learning disabled.
Dostal says it was only with the support and perseverance of his family that he was able to overcome quickly what could easily have been a life-breaking handicap.
Encouraged by his grandfather, Emil Dostal, a well-known athletics coach, and his father, Jiri, an enthusiastic amateur athlete, young Jan took up every sport he could: volleyball, basketball, swimming and even the high jump.
His father, a part-time ski instructor, went back to school and took a course in training handicapped skiers.
"The regime didn't want us to play sports; they didn't want us to be seen," said Dostal, who is studying for a degree in coaching disabled athletes. "They wanted to show how 'clean' the country was, and that there weren't many handicapped athletes."
Jan Pauer, one of the founders of the Czech disabled sports movement, said: "Sport was the shop window of the regime. The regime wanted to show how great they were through sport, and handicapped sports weren't attractive for them. It was soccer, hockey, track and field that got the attention and the money."
Pauer lost his left leg when he fell under a Prague tram in 1958, just before his 19th birthday. He founded the first disabled sports club in Prague in 1964.

Fragen 5 -
5. Today's technology can offer many specialized solutions dependent on the type of the handicap.Wheel chairs are aquipped by batteries.
(Diese Dinge mit Orthosurgery... weiß ich nicht wie ich es ausformulieren soll!! bitte helfen)
6. Advantages are the availability of 24 hours professional care and service. Also there is a company of similarly disabled persons.
Disadvantages are the danger of isolation. Also it costst a lot of money. An other big problem is the potential disintegration from society.
7. I want to answer these question with a personal experience. A relative of mine stood in front of the decision to abort an embryo that was diagnosed as a down- syndrom baby. Her religious belief gave her the strengh to give birth to a handicapped baby and since then she gasped a lot of opportunities to socializ with mothers suffering from a similar fate.
8. In my opinion a disabled girl or boy couln't attend our school because we cannot provide what is needed for a handicapped person.
9. The majority of our towns, shops and railways is not providing a stepless acces.
10. We have recently been on school excursion to the Wagner Jauregg hospital in Linz and there cruelties where explained to us.
Bitte um Korrektur. Ein Stückchen weiter unten, wo ich den Blog "A day of a blind gril" angelegt habe, habe ich bereits angefangen etwas zu schreiben. Da bitte auch ein Auge drüber werfen!
Dankeschön

Verbesserung v. Conny's Entwurf
1) Whenever "so- called" normal people meet or just observe handicapped people they may feel disgusted and these “normal” people refuse to communicate with the disabled humans.
2) There are two options to handle the problem of integration: On one hand practitioners claim its is almost impossible to integrate severely disabled people into groups of 20 to 25 kids. (This is also my private opinion). The second opinion that is mostly shared by the parents of handicapped kids is to integrate those at almost all means but to help to overcome those handicaps through a teaching assistant or technical carers. A well-known fact is: the earlier integration starts the easier the disabled person gets accustomed to it.
3) I can contribute a daily personal experience when driving by bus to my school. A blind girl is rarely helped by other pupils. I offer her my seat whenever I meet her. But there are also people who don't help her at all and observe her with neglect.
4) The biggest problem is self acceptance of a handicap. Thus the disabled persons often suffer from inferiority complexes. The environment in Vöcklabruck is not yet ready to give special understanding and support that would urgently needed.

The second opinion is to integrate handicapps but help to overcome their handicap through a teching assistant or technical. Where can a handicapped person get help ? - Specially written for Conny
What benefits can I claim?
Income-related benefits
If you are on a low income, you may be able to claim:
* income support
* housing benefit
* council tax benefit
* tax credits.
Additional support is available through these benefits for disabled people.
Disability benefits
Disability benefits are not means-tested, which means your entitlement isn't affected by how much money you have. Instead, the amount of benefit you receive will depend on how severe your disability is.
* If you need help with day-to-day tasks because of a mental illness or physical disability, you may be able to get disability living allowance (if you're under 65) or attendance allowance (if you're 65 and over).
* If you can't work because you are disabled, you may be able to claim incapacity benefit.
* If you've been injured in an accident at work, you may be entitled to industrial injuries disablement benefit and constant attendance allowance.
* If you were injured and disabled while serving in the army, you may be entitled to war disablement pension and constant attendance allowance.
Help for carers

Where can I get help with benefits?
Working out which benefits you can claim can be complicated - and filling in the forms can be worse! So it's a good idea to get some help from a Citizens Advice Bureau, welfare rights agency or a disability advice service. Use Update or the Advice Services Directory to find an agency near you.
An adviser can help you:
* find out what you're entitled to
* fill in the forms
* sort out any problems with your benefits.
You can also call the Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 882 200 for help with filling in benefit forms. If you are deaf or have a hearing impairment you can use the minicom line on 0800 24 33 55.

Today I got up at 7 o' clock and it was very strange. My room was very dark and couldn't see anything. I put the light on but it was the same darkness in my room. I was wondering and tried to go into the bathroom. There a had a shower and I washed ma face. It was so dark that I ran against a chair. Then I was looking for may clothes but I couldn't ´see it. I found a T-shirt but i didn't know which and what colour.
